Welcoming New Talent to the South Island
We are thrilled to announce two key appointments in the South Island team:
Lauryn Smith – South Island Colour Matcher
Joining us as the new Colour Matcher, Lauryn brings precision, flair, and a deep passion for colour science. With a strong background in coatings and a keen eye for detail, Lauryn is set to deliver unmatched support to our South Island customers—ensuring accurate colour solutions and fast turnaround times for even the most complex finishes.
Nathanael Mellis – South Island Branch Manager
After 8 years in our Colour Room, Nathanael Mellis has been appointed our new Branch Manager for the South Island. In this role Nathanael brings with him a wealth of leadership experience across sales, management, and operations as well as technical hands-on experience with the Mirotone Product range. His people-first management style and customer-centric focus are already energising the Christchurch branch and positioning us strongly for growth in the region.
Honouring a Legend: Peter Hutson Retires After 39.5 Years
After nearly four decades of service, we say farewell and thank you to Peter Hutson, who has retired after an incredible 39.5 years with Mirotone. Peter’s dedication, workmanship, and steady leadership have been a cornerstone of our business for generations of colleagues and customers.
From hand-tinting batches to mentoring dozens of team members, Peter has worn many hats and leaves behind a legacy defined by professionalism, humility, and unwavering loyalty.
Peter, your presence will be greatly missed, and we wish you a relaxing and rewarding retirement.

As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and safety, Mirotone is proud to launch our brand-new antimicrobial water-based coating range. We have Moved: New Head Office in Onehunga, Auckland
After many years in East Tamaki, the Mirotone NZ Head Office has officially moved to its new home at 161 Neilson Street, Onehunga, Auckland.
This new facility reflects our strategic growth and modernisation efforts. It provides improved access for customers, better logistics capabilities, and a fresh environment for our growing Auckland team to collaborate and innovate.
